Can I download a PC game anywhere if I have the product key?

I have the Sims 3 and some extensions on CD, but of course no drive on my new laptop. Before I buy the drive, I wanted to ask whether you can download the game (at best free of charge) and then enter the key from my CD?

Uhmm… External drive? Or a cloud? If you can download, you can enter the key, you even have to use apoppos Steam etc.

That should go through Origin. Simply add the product and it's in your library.
