Reinstall Microsoft Office 2016 Pro Plus?

Due to a virus problem, I completely flattened my laptop and didn't think that I would lose Microsoft Office in the process.

With a Microsoft account or product key you can always download Office from the official website. However, I don't know where I bought Office years ago or where my product key can be found. And on the side of my Microsoft account it said that I had never bought any software, but that can't be true because I had it before.

When I clicked "Install Microsoft Office via Product Key", to my luck and astonishment, the Product Key field filled out by itself. So it somehow remembered the long number by itself. Everything worked, I had Office again.

However, there were still residues of the virus, so I flattened my laptop again with the expectation that I would be able to reinstall Office if I simply log in and the product key would be automatically inserted again.

But he doesn't do that anymore. There's just an empty field and the statement that I don't have any software to install. So now I have to enter a product key to install, but there's 0% chance that I will find my old product key. So either I have to buy a new (expensive) one, or somehow get this solved with your help!

I wonder whether you can only reinstall Office 2 or 3 times before you have to buy it again - and whether these 2-3 times have now been achieved and therefore it won't work again.

If it doesn't, I really don't know what I was supposed to have done wrong. (Apart from my stupidity not to write down the product key for me when he filled out the first one by himself… But who could have guessed that it would only work automatically the first time?!)

Unfortunately, Pro Plus is not stored in the Microsoft account, as this version is actually intended for a different purpose.

If the laptop has only been "reset", the key can be kept in the registry. If you flatten it completely and reinstall the system, then don't. Just as well the case with reset 2x…

But Pro Plus is legally available without any legal problems (i.e. With providers where you do not recognize that the key may not be completely correct and you do not owe anything) from 30 euro. For providers who only sell the key without a license from 5 euro.

If you still have a proof of purchase etc., then you can use these keys.
