Install Windows 10 through EFI Shell?

Ya

My windows was damaged and now the OS on the laptop is completely gone. Now I have made my n Bootleg and wants to install over EFI shell, but there's nothing or keyboard layout completely different.

Ky

Why are you making it so complicated for you and does not use the normal setup of Win 10?

Ya

Because that does not work, it can only boot into the BIOS otherwise it automatically starts in EFI Shell mode, and in the BIOS I can't boot iwie through the USB stick, as comes shortly black screen and then again the BIOS where I was

Why do you boot into the EFI shell and not directly from the stick?

BTW: The keyboard layout should be EN-US. Just look for a template in the net, then you can read which letters are where.

En

So maybe your stick is not bootable? How did you create this… Using Media Creation Tool?

Ya
1

Does not work, there are completely different layouts

Furthermore, it is not directly from the USB stick to boot, see the top message

Ya
1

Exactly, but it is bootable on my normal machine. Strange

ro

Which tool did you use to create the stick?

Ky
1

Is it about a laptop or a PC?

Then he will not have any keyboard drivers at the time. Then you probably need a PS2 keyboard. Normal changes the boot order in the BIOS so that the stick is at the top or activates the Boot Manager

Ya

MediaCreatonTool, directly from Windows

En

Maybe there's a setting in the BIOS that prevents the booting of other media… I just do not know just what that called

Ya
1

It's about a laptop, I've changed the boot order achso and besides, I never get out of the EFI shell mode, or can't shut down the laptop and must always wait until battery runs low.

Ya

Strange, formerly where I installed Linux I only went there I did something wrong, but I booted trzd through the BIOS and had worked but now iwie not at all

En

Switch off is certainly by long press of the power button…

Ky

Try deactivating Fast Boot and changing the mode to Legacy BIOS

Ya

No, it does not feel like I've already pressed 3x 2-3min, but that's probably because my keyboard layout is completely banned…

Ya

I try as soon as my battery drains

En

That is very funny… Who knows what is wrong with the device… Maybe a BIOS reset or directly a BIOSUPDATE helps… Maybe there's something damaged

Ya

How should that go without access to the laptop? Besides, it's some Odys Trendbook 14

Ya

Is it possible that the USB stick was not "bootable" because I made the USB stick bootable through Windows directly and not from the official laptop side? (https://www.odyshilfe.de/treiber)

Ky

This is still bootable

En

I believe you make the stick bootable at the end is pretty much no matter… Something prevents the boot from the stick… Can you boot as described here

https://www.odyshilfe.de/id20003-2

Ya

I try it out then, as soon as the battery runs dry probably 3-5hrs but if it is my own I have done exactly the same but I just install the right Windows.iso file of Odys and vllt yes it works

En

Do you pack the ISO on the stick?

Ya
-1

Yes, so I "burn" with ISO to USB as in the instructions

ta

You can see how valuable backups and optical drives are.

I also have div. Problems with div. USB sticks themselves and on this platform and get to the conclusion:
The CD / DVD has not served as a bootable medium and is more compatible.

Does your laptop have an optical drive?

[The question, how one can damage a current Windows so that nothing is more save me! Because doing this is really a feat - unless the hardware itself is damaged.]

Ya

Haha think I should rather switch from IT to the artist, well have no optical drive

Ya

Have just rebooted with the new USB stick, with the Windows file of Odys and now the stick was not recognized… Strange

En

And if you do that with the Media Creation Tool do you load the ISO separately and then pack it with another tool on the stick or do you complete the process completely on the medium the Media Creation Tool so that it completely completes the stick itself?

Ya

Yeah, so if I do that with Media Creation Tool, I'll do it without .iso file but just load it from MDT to the USB stick

En

Yes that's right… Wanted to make sure only once… Because if you just just ISO packs on it does not work… The contents of the ISO must be on it

Ya

Yes I know, am desperate I just got my 2nd USB stick and again installed the Odys Windows Iso, if that does not work I do both sticks Win10 Normal again

En

Look in the BIOS if there are the points → "Fast Boot", "Fast Bios Mode" or "Quick Boot" and disable it

and enable legacy USB support

https://www.pcwelt.de/...06863.html

Ya

Fast Boot is disabled, ohso way, just went with the 2 USB sticks, then it is booted from the USB stick and iwas there with cmd and iwas there was made, he was rebooted and I'm out of frustration again went to bios and accidentally come back to the EFI Shell, wait now again battery is running low and try the same again, or is it now something on the USB sticks that I should format again?

En

I have no idea what the laptop is doing… Do you come with the command exit from the Shel

Ya

I can't type the "i" because the keyboard layout is verbuggt

En

And if you plug in a separate keyboard?

Ya

Just did that again with the USB sticks and now it works, there are some files from cmd installed by Odys and for windows I think, hope it works the same

Ya

Jap, worked with this odys file

En

Interesting… Can with the Media Creation Tool version of Windows directly update to 1903 because it is probably the 1809 or Older
