I have downloaded obs and now i want to stream the picture of my switch with it. Unfortunately I don't have a capture card.
now i thought that i could connect my switch to the hdmi port of the laptop and then i could simply record a screen. The problem is that I can't find my switch.
What's the best way to do this.
I thought I could do it with another monitor, but unfortunately I can't find this one either.

You need a capture card. You can connect to a separate screen via HDMI, but the screen still has to be connected to the PC. You also have to consider HDMI input and output. Simply connecting is not possible. Therefore a capture card is very helpful. But there are now cheap capture cards, or to pay around 100 euro. Recording or streaming for fun is enough.
