However, when the laptop restarts, my account automatically loads without me providing my password. I would like to turn this off. When rebooting, the first thing to do is to get the interface where you can select your account and then enter the password.
That's because your laptop is NOT shutting down but "waking up" from standby mode. So he is in hibernation.
A password must always come when;
- a password has been set,
- you turn off the pc completely
- you not only set the password, but it is also active.
And after a reboot, for example, after automatic software update, then he wants no password
Then you have possibly activated the option in the user account control in the control panel, that the password should not come and that immediately should be loaded into the system. You can activate and turn off that there.
