A friend of mine got such a laptop. And he's damn slow. It is also extremely slow with undemanding things like Office. What could it be? The hardware should still be good enough
This can be due to some things. He can do the following:
Set up again (NOT reset)
Use SSD instead of HDD (if not)
Don't install unnecessary software that you don't need. These include Clean Master, free antivirus programs, screenshot programs, a lot of senseless add-ons for the browser and others.
NEVER use sites like chip, computer image or similar to download and install programs! Every program has an official page. Download there and nowhere else. To do this, you have to skip the pages that are marked as "advertisements".
Remove dust. It is best to unscrew and clean everything.
Rather for "advanced": replace thermal grease. Every 2 years at the latest. Otherwise the laptop gets hot and slower so that it does not overheat.
An HDD is certainly installed. Which, according to the other hardware, will also be old. I suspect it is because of a slow hard drive
4GB rams have long been out of date, not even for laptops. It is also probably due to the hard drive, which is probably a HDD that is incredibly slow. Tell him to upgrade his ram and install a SSD and pull the operating system on it!
What does the task manager say about the CPU, RAM and hard disk utilization? It's always the first thing I look up.
What's in the autostart? Programs may be running in the background that reduce performance.
In 98% of cases, the hard drive is the problem. Too old, broken, HDD instead of SSD etc.
Unnecessary services may be activated or programs in autostart.
Otherwise, is an SSD or an HDD installed?
