Laptop has orange screen?

My toshiba laptop with windows10 today displayed an orange screen with vertical thin white stripes when the operating system was powered up

he is also very hot and has "worked really loud"

when I just strangled him then (shutdown button pressed) he was still connected to the power min-lade cable, but has suddenly worked only "on the battery"

what can I do now to fix this?

Sounds like a defective graphics card. Could also be on the display.

Overall, probably a new laptop is due.

I think so too. However, I do not touch the GraKa. More likely is a loose contact between the LT and monitor or even a short circuit would be possible here.

This ribbon cable is moved whenever the LT is opened or closed. For low-cost products, the ribbon cable is not intercepted. Only the solder joints hold the cable. For expensive products, the line is still intercepted by a strain relief.

Repair bad to not possible.

The only thing you could do here: Get the dust out of the device with a vacuum cleaner. There's a ventilation grille somewhere.

With good luck, the device will work again when it has cooled down. But chances are bad.

Sw

Either ram, screen or graphics card is broken.

Can it be that your tow-top has pulled the last windows update? Mine did not work after that - restart - then message:

undoing changes…
