I only bought an Acer Aspire laptop at the end of January.
There are two lights on, and usually one only flashes orange briefly sometimes, for an hour it has only been orange, the other still light blue.
I always connected the laptop to the power because the picture is darker when you remove the power adapter.
What does that mean if the light always blinks orange? Before that, it always turned blue and somehow the thing worries me.
Has anything changed on the laptop or do you notice anything else?
No, it works flawlessly, but since the light worries me, it stays orange, while otherwise it always turns blue after a few minutes
I can't tell you what the reason is, I'm sorry xD.
But in your place I wouldn't care as long as nothing changes.
So on my Acer the blue light for activity and the orange light for the battery is. As soon as I plug in the power adapter, the orange begins to glow.
For me it was always blue when I plug in the power adapter and only occasionally orange, but now it has been orange for an hour and flashes so funny all the time that scares me that something is wrong.
If I have the computer always on the power, then the battery can't go empty, right?
This is the charging function:
On the bottom you will often find a small hole with a small battery logo.
With a paper clip you can reach and press a switch (hold for 10-20 seconds, of course switch off the notebook and disconnect from the power supply) and carry out a reset.
Maybe it helps, if not, then the battery or the charging electronics are defective.
@Answer But power is still supplied to the laptop, because when I remove the power adapter the screen is dark.
My laptop is always at 98%, it is always on the power. If the power supply is always on anyway, it doesn't matter whether the battery works or not? Never use the Lappy without a power supply anyway.
Sure, it can discharge - but it also takes a while. It only lights up blue as long as the battery is full. Just have a look in the operating instructions what the blinking means.
Nevertheless, the battery or the charging electronics can be defective and is no longer correctly calibrated. That's why it's always only 98% …
Yes, but if it stays at 98% it's good. For me, the laptop is always connected to the power anyway, because otherwise the screen is too dark. And how can a battery be defective after four months?
If I leave the power on now, how many hours can I still surf with it, or will the performance be less than 98%
I can't tell you that all in all, if you're unlucky, the electronics will eventually drown you and the battery won't be charged at all. If the laptop is heavily loaded, the laptop can also run out because part of the reserve power is drawn from the battery.
