I have an important question about the operating system!
Microsoft informed me a few months ago in the window that my operating program Windows 7 Home Premium from 14.01.2020 with Abdates is no longer supported, so I get no more backup updates from then on, because this program is discontinued.
My laptop has an AMD Athlon (tm) processor TF-20 1.6 GHz
Windows performance index 3.2 3GB memory and 64 bit operating system
Brand emachines G625 by Athlon, Upgradable to 1.4TB and 1 year old.
The laptop itself is running well except that the hard drive spins a bit, only 75-85% well.
My question is which operating system can and should Windows 7 Home Premium for the laptop, without which makes it limp, and what good free virus program is worth every laptop, apart from the data that I deposited from my good laptop have?
To throw away this is too bad with its 16: 9 widescreen and whisper quiet is this too ;-)
It also depends on what software you want to use on the laptop. Some things only work under Windows. Most of them can also be used just as well under Linux.
Runs easily on Windows 10 on it.
I would advise against that, with such a laptop.
Try a Linux
And why? If Windows 7 already ran on Windows 10 will probably even run better… Some new laptops have less power and there it works.
Unless you are software moderately not dependent on Windows then you can also use Linux, but that's not something for everyone.
After Windows 7 came Windows 10.
However, I do not think that Windows 10 will run on the laptop because the manufacturer probably does not provide drivers for Windows 10 or The laptop may not meet the system requirements for Windows 10 (but I can't say that).
With Windows 10, you do not need a separate anti-virus program, because a very good is already there (Windows Defender).
Because I can say from experience that Windows 10 on older laptops / Pcs does not necessarily work well. And 3 Gb of memory is really little for Windows 10 …
Apart from the fact that there will probably be no drivers for Windows 10
Okay forget it 😏
Had only read 1 year old 🤦🏼♀️
He is 10 years old… Then Windows has done yes.
Just to represent once the right professional… After windows 7 follow windows 8 and then even windows 8.1.
windows 8 with its approach to build a surface for pc / notebook / smartphone and tablets was not popular whereupon windows 8.1 came and again offered a desktop.
but in which I go compliant is that the questioner should go to windows 10. With drivers, I see no problems with older hardware. The should support Windows 10 so directly.
After Windows 7 came WIN8, then WIN8.1 then WIN10.
Under certain circumstances, your laptop can be updated with WIN7 on WIN10. Try that on the Microsoft side. For a while that was possible. This possibility was again extended by Microsoft. The last message on this topic was that Microsoft had renewed this because many users still used WIN7 and Microsoft did not want to annoy its customers even further.
That with the drivers should indeed be a bigger problem than the performance index.
Because generally Windows 10 should be more resource-efficient with the hardware.
However, it can be tricky to find drivers for the hardware built into the laptop - if there are any.
Of course (!) The standard drivers from Microsoft should work - but it's not always the case.
Incidentally, the driver question is also on the table when switching to Linux.
I hear z. B. In the c't uplink, the Linux driver support (especially the energy-saving options that are important for laptops) is a constant worksite.
I'll try with 8, the 10 he should not be as plump as I heard from most.
do I have to take it with 64 MB?
Linux does not say so, I had times ;-) anyway thanks ;-)
Try it first with 8, if that is not so possibly 10, where I was told, 10 would be faulty, thanks anyway ;-)
Since you have of course right with Windows 8 - I have already completely deleted from my memory LOL.
Is not just a Linux. Different distributions, interfaces and so on
WIN7 on WIN10 went well. WIN8 or WIN8.1 on WIN10 should not go.
"Do I have to take it with 64 MB?"
If you have the 64-bit version, then of course you have 32Bit. But it is automatically selected, it is indeed an update.
