On my laptop, this bracket breaks, which connects the screen to the rest of the computer. It broke apart at the seam on the back and expands when I fold the laptop down. I used to be able to click it back together and it held, but now the thing totally unhooks when I close the screen. Does anyone know the problem and may know how to remedy the situation? Or how expensive it is / whether it is worth repairing something like that.
Maybe the clip that connects the case to the screen has broken off? I think if that were the case, the lower case would have to be replaced if possible.
Depending on the model and manufacturer, you can ask or make use of any guarantees.
Alternatively, one should relate the value of the device to the effort that is invested and not neglect an alternative purchase
It's exactly about the clip. The seam on the back of it is tired and opened, I see such small plug-in connections in there, but these alone do not seem to be able to withstand the weight of the display. That's why the clip bends open on the back. My consideration would be whether it makes any sense to fix it or whether you should buy a new laptop. Do you have any idea how much such a repair will cost?
Is not really my area, just look around and ask questions I would suggest. If you want to try something yourself, then maybe "stabilize" the clip again? And as I have already written - put the effort in relation to the costs and do not neglect the new / alternative purchase.
