External drive for listening comprehension school?

I want to get an external drive for my laptop because I want to play listening comprehension task for the school there. Can anyone recommend a good external drive that can't read normal CDs on and play on Windows? Is that possible?

Since you can take absolutely any normal CD or DVD drive that has an external connection. Yes, I've already done.
