For a university project I'm supposed to prepare a sample calculation for the creation of a website. I used the Illustrator software (Adobe Cloud) to create the illustrations. If this were an actual invoice, could I claim the monthly cost of Adobe Cloud from the client? Or to what extent could I include the use of Illustrator in the bill?
Another question would be whether the electricity costs (use of the laptop) should also be included in the bill?
Leave the customer alone
Well… Just think about the costs you would have in your company: rent, electricity, water, costs for clouds, depreciation of devices, etc. You have to pack these costs as fixed costs in the orders so that you assign them to the hours. Then there are the wage costs of you or other people working in the company who do not work directly on the project but still work for you: For example, secretary, cleaner, caretaker, etc. Only when this is covered will your hours be added, of course are chosen in the sentence so that there's a profit here. Otherwise you wouldn't earn anything from your work.
