Have you ever had such a thing? I have a laptop and PC. Both depend on the same DSL network, Win7 and Win10. They sometimes tend to turn on themselves at night (between about 1:00 and 4:00) independently of each other, sometimes the laptop, sometimes the PC. The laptop too, although it is closed. The hard PC is therefore currently disconnected from power, but the laptop continues to enjoy its own life. I can hear it in my sleep, when the fan (fan) starts up from the silence, or even if I happen to be awake. I'm a tech savvy, but not a tech guru. I do not know, however, what could be so interesting about my stuff that someone wanted to snoop on the internet… Creepy is this behavior already. Even my smartphone could be affected, but it just can't be seen, because always quiet…
Are you sure the PCs are really off and not in sleep mode? If I'm not mistaken, Windows has the bad habit of turning off a PC in recent versions rather than just sending it to sleep mode.
As far as I know, you can kill this silly sleep mode with the console command "powercfg -h off" (must be entered as an admin).
With appropriate activation of the Blechotto really and correctly turns off.
So my PC is usually not really out, but in hibernation mode and starts at night to check updates every now and then.
Whether Windows can do that even when the PC is completely off, I do not know. With a current UEFI that would be within the scope of the technically feasible.
