What does my new landline phone have to be able to do for the home office?

I'm overwhelmed with all the terms and technology. I'm looking for a new one for my home office

Landline telephone with handset. My claim is that you can connect a headset both via Bluetooth and via a plug. The handset must be suitable for hearing aid wearers, but not meet the requirements of the hearing impaired.

If it matters, the telephone provider is Kabel Deutschland, now Vodafone. Both landline phones are Siemens Gigaset. S810 as a family part in the living room and an AS140 in the study, which does not fulfill my purpose for work. Above all, I criticize the volume of the conversation and the caller lists.

The second number provided is switched in the study, which is only known to the family in the private sphere. This has not yet been transmitted (as I have read, it doesn't work with Vodafone either?) Which should stay that way for the time being, because I don't want my customers to save my private number.

The client now promises to install a program on my laptop that will transmit my work number. However, some colleagues have now arranged this differently because it did not work satisfactorily at home. But no one could explain why. Does this telephone connection then depend on the performance of the Internet manager (stick from Telekom) and does the telephone only work when I'm connected to the client's server?

If you still need information, please ask. If you have other ideas, just write about them. I'm also happy about a purchase recommendation, or just the reference to which names I have to pay attention to when buying.

Ma

You have to be able to make phone calls with it

Accept phone calls
Initiate phone calls.

.

Some employers provide company cell phones.

My

What do you want to spend.

Gr

If not already done, exchange the router for a Fritzbox.
Log in FritzFon and any other DECT devices - done.
In the Fritzbox you can also configure which phone sends which outgoing number and which reacts to which number.

fo

As far as I know, the Fritzfon can't connect a Bluetooth headset.

The solution via the laptop (alternatively, simply using the smartphone (that frees you up for useless meetings) to take down the garbage or to get things from the attic or from the garage), I think is good.

With normal "handsets" you always have the problem that you have to keep an eye on another battery. Barrier-free devices can also become very expensive, very quickly. With smartphones, the solution is always just a headset and a free app away.

I would like to have the employer explain the solution to me. Is it just a VOIP account? You can easily get it (e.g. With the Zoiper app) on any number of devices. With online telephony you are always dependent on the Internet, so it can also be an advantage that your smartphone still has Internet access itself when there are intermittent Internet weaknesses and, in the worst case, a "correct" cellular voice connection. Always without any problems with the same hardware.

A webcam can also be useful for the home office, if you want that, the smartphone also has a solution, but then you still need an adjustable stand.

fo

If the program on the laptop is a softphone, then you make calls via the PC, that means the headset has to be connected to the PC and you can only be reached if the software is running.

I have set a limit of 100 euro, but it depends on which advantages could arise. At the moment only for the home office, no idea how long AG will approve this.

Mu

Since my AG will definitely not provide me with a cell phone, would the alternative be a new smartphone with the changeover of the tariff at Vodafone? At the moment our family cell phones are prepaid

I don't want to make my own cell phone available for professional contacts.

I don't know what the AG's solution looks like, I have to find out more first.

Mu

If I have to clarify, then it would be counterproductive for me.

Iv

Your cell phone would need an app and Wi-Fi access. The calls would go through the AG, but the freedoms are then gone. You can also go directly to the laptop there.

Seriously: The expenses are your employer's, he has to equip you to work and to train you accordingly in dealing with it.

Just have someone give you a cell phone, it shouldn't queue up like that.

To your internet access:

I think with a mobile USB stick you can bridge a standby or a one-day business trip, but the traffic in the home office and VOIP over it, that will exhaust the data volume pretty quickly. You should get a real DSL connection, but don't forget that you can then deduct it from your tax, so you only have to pay it from your gross wages. Of course, the AG can pay you for that too.

Mu

Such stupid comments had to come.

Ma

In terms of quality, it is optimal for your question.

Gr

Right. Install FritzApp on the mobile phone and connect the Bluetooth headset to the mobile phone.

Mu

Thanks for the tips, but then my AG would rather cut my home office. The legal basis would have to change here first. He won't invest any more money here.

Since I depend on 2 monitors anyway, mobility only takes place in the home. The telephone availability must be guaranteed, even if I take out garbage or cook, or the laptop is still in the trunk ;-)

My

Then your employer should provide you with a compatible device.
