Is it the charger or the laptop?

- in Acer

I recently found that when I connect my laptop to the mains, the ventilation turns completely and my temperature goes up to 97 °. That my laptop gets very warm is already a known problem for me (but this is often the case with the range of laptops I have), but so far this has only happened in games. But now it just happens as soon as it's on the charging cable, even when it's idle. So if I just don't do anything.

Strangely enough, the laptop only really spins as soon as it is charged to 30%. Does that mean anything?

Can a charging cable cause this temperature rise?

And if so, does anyone know where to get cheap chargers from?

I have an Acer Predator Helios 300. And all chargers that would be suitable for this model cost between 60 euro and 130 euro. It's just too expensive for me. /

I thank you in advance and wish you a happy new year.

This may be a driver problem. Try a little thing: Burn the Linux live system Knoppix to a USB stick, start it and plug in the laptop. If it turns up anyway, it's not Windows' fault. In the best case, only the charger is defective. Cheap chargers often don't do it.

Thanks for the answer. Can I just download it from Chip.de or do I have to go to a specific page?

NOT with chip! Ideally you only get adware! Only at knoppix.org or at Heise.de! In general, you shouldn't load anything with Chip, because as an inexperienced user you only get adware.

OK thank you for the info. I'll give it a try ^^
