Make SD card transfer fast?

I'm trying to copy data from an old SD card to a new card. It depends on the intermediate step, when copying from the old one to the PC.

Is there a trick to make it faster?

The transmission always hangs up after hours.

There are about 58 GB on the old card. Otherwise the card works perfectly in the mobile phone.

With another card, the transfer of about 100 GB works in one minute.

Use a Windows 10 laptop from Acer.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can get the 58 GB faster from the old to the new SD card? Any Windows settings? If there's a way to skip the intermediate step on the laptop and get the data directly from the old to the new card, would I of course do that too?

I think it won't go any faster, just be patient!

In addition to the quality of the SD card, the quality and connection of your card reader is also important.

If the should run via USB2 - and thus max.Hi-Speed - long copying times are pre-programmed.
You could remove this bottleneck with a USB3 card reader that supports at least Superspeed and, in my opinion, makes sense too.

There are really no software options to accelerate the whole thing.

It would be possible to compress the data beforehand and only then to transfer it, which would probably take a similar amount of time in the end.

Instead of changing the SD card, you could simply transfer it to the new device. At some point you want to exchange them for sure, since the data transfer rate or the size of the card will no longer be sufficient for you at some point, it makes sense to change them now.

If you say that another (newer) card has significantly faster transfer times under the same "conditions", i.e. The same slots, it is quite clear that the "old" card simply does not yet support data transfer as fast.

I guess you just have to wait…
