Recover deleted photos?

2 years ago I deleted some photos from my Acer laptop. The police have been taking my laptop for a few days and looking for it. The laptop has been coded. My question is: can the police unlock the laptop? And if so, can you restore the deleted photo?

Ge

Yes, it is technically possible if you set it up and the data is still there.

Of course, this is possible if the hard drive has not been properly formatted and correctly reset to the factory settings. For an average IT person, it's made in hand to turn.

I recently downloaded movies and music and then deleted them. Do you think these photos may or may not have been deleted?

Ge

You can't say it like that. Just wait and see what they find.

And just don't do that Scheixx in the future…

If you deleted the said photos two years ago, this area of the hard drive has surely been overwritten countless times again. I wouldn't worry about that. If you really want to delete something irretrievably use special shredder programs which e.g. Work with the Gutmann method. The data can then no longer even be found via residual magnetism.

I deleted the photos two and a half years ago. From that time until now, I've downloaded and deleted music and movies almost every week. Do you mean that the hard drive has already been overwritten? Lg

Everything has been "flat" for a long time!

It doesn't matter whether the data carrier was encrypted or not.

With normal deletion, only the reserved area in the table of contents of the data carrier is removed. This area is then available again for other write processes.

Such "shredder" tools directly overwrite these data areas multiple or multiple times with arbitrary data patterns. That takes a lot of time.

And their functionality differs when used on an HDD or an SSD.
