Last time I wanted to fix my laptop (hinge broken from the screen cladding) and discovered 2 "silver papers" above and below (good to see up here> https://m.ipc-computer.de/acer/notebook/aspire-serie/vx/aspire-vx-15-vx5-591g-74cu/displaydeckel-43688974/nup) Anyone have any idea what that is and what it does?
This is part of the WLAN antenna
Either antennas for WLAN, Bluetooth, and or cell phone, or simply for stabilization, so that the plastic lid doesn't crack apart when you open it for the first time.
So antennas can't be because it is not wired, it just hangs there or sticks there. The webcam has one more edit above. Maybe grounding?
I've already written about it above. It is not wired to the mainboard. Hmm…
What do you want to ground with plastic? Shielding still occurs to me. Or weighting, so that the lid gains some weight.
Also true. Shielding is quite possible. As I said it is not wired and just sticks to it. 😂
Then it serves as a shield.
Well, I can't say it because I don't know what it is, but it would make sense.
Shielding would make sense, since the displays are not so happy to talk about magnets. Weighting would also make sense, if the display were too light, it would wobble back and forth like a pendulum with every press of a button.
