My grandparents are often bored during the Corona restrictions and I thought to myself that I would give them my old laptop, which I have not used for a long time.
It's an Acer Extensa 5620 with Windows Vista. Can you still access the internet with such a device? I was already able to connect it to my WLAN, I was also able to make search queries, but not open the websites. How do I get another browser on this device? Is there still a browser that works on Vista?
I know it is not safe to use such a device on the Internet, but there's no personal information on the device. So if it were to be reset or become unusable due to viruses, that would not be a problem.
What do you think of my idea? Can this be implemented?
If you are ready to invest a little time, I would recommend installing Linux on it.
