Internet connection slow WLAN?

I have a 100k line and only 10k arrive at my PC. With my laptop, on the other hand, 75k in some tests but only 15k (only as INFO). My router is connected directly to a gas fiber socket and therefore does not serve as a router but rather as a distributor (that's how I understood it). A LAN cable is not an option. My PC is almost in the next room, but unfortunately I can't use a cable.

Would you recommend me to buy a new router 7590 (Wi-Fi 6) or to use D-Lan to get more performance if necessary. Or buy a new Wi-Fi card?

What would you recommend to me? Is there any other alternative that I haven't considered?

Router: Fritz! Box 7430

WLAN card PC: D-Link DWA-525 Wireless N 150 Desktop Adapter

Why is the lankabel not an option?

If you want to gamble professionally you should also use a lan cable, not wlan.

Mi

The bottleneck is definitely your WLAN card on the PC with 150 Mbit / s. Your Fritz! Box manages 450 Mbit / s. So you could replace your wireless card on your PC.

Ma

I thought so too, but my internet connection is only a 100k and the Wi-Fi card would be enough, right?

Im

Your router is hardly connected directly to a fiber optic cable, short fiber optic cable, rather connected to the fiber optic cable on the main road via vectoring / super vectoring… ^^

It's your own fault who uses Wi-Fi. Check the transmission mode, 2.4 GHz is slower, but has significantly more range.

Mi

Okay, maybe there's just a misunderstanding. Could it be that your internet line delivers 100 Mbit / s and your PC receives 10 Mbit / s?

Ma

Yes, exactly

Mi

Then the bottleneck is your internet connection and you can get the most out of your existing technology.

Ma

But that only 1 / 10th of my line arrives at my PC can't be normal?

Ma

So the question was whether DLAN could help what?

Im

Not really that great

Mi

There are two different units of measurement: 100 MBit is 12.5 MByte.

Do a speed test on Fast.com or speedtest.net and at the same time check the usage of your Wi-Fi in the task manager.

You are certainly confusing 100Mbit with = 10MB / s.
