Strange field in the display of the laptop?

For a few days I have been seeing this strange field in the lower right corner of the screen (see picture, marked with a red arrow) on my laptop and I don't know what that should be. I can't click it away, there's no X to remove, etc. That is always in the foreground and can't "see past it".

Can someone say what it is, what it wants and how I can get it away?

Looks like a program running in the background is displaying this overlay. Just quit a few programs in the background and see which of them shows the overlay.
