For some days my laptop Asus KV 95 V with Windows 8.1 has become extremely slow. Various multimedia applications, such as sp. NERO 2017 etc. Take an extremely long time to load and then often fall off. It comes in part, the message "too few sources" Where this is my view nonsense, because the same applications ran smoothly in the past. Also, the loading of websites takes forever (including Google), or are not loaded. Even when closing programs, it sometimes takes forever before a reaction comes and the programs are closed. Certain programs w.z. Ex. MP3 Rocket can't be started anymore. Nothing happens when you click on these programs. In most cases, restarting the system will result in an easy and short-term improvement.
I've already tried to help myself, as I suspect a problem with the memory here, I've used several times the CC Cleaner, Glary Utiliies "repair system files", Glary 1 click maintenance, hard disk Defrakmentiert. But all that does not help.
Where could the problem be, what can I do?
But I have to say that I have hardware and the operating system very little idea. I'm a pure user and of course I do not want to do any damage.
Protected against viruses etc. Is the laptop by ESET Internet Securitry 12.2.23.0
Reinstalling or resetting Windows to factory defaults can only be a last resort. Since I have a significant number of programs installed and a 60-hour working week, I do not have the time for such a thing. Also to give the laptop to eibner company for software verification is only a very last option, since I need the laptop daily for my professional activity and has been pulled by such companies too often on the table.
There are two ways why the laptop is so slow: a) the manufacturer throttles the CPU; b) it is due to a Windows Update, the update has slowed down your PC.
Otherwise, buy yourself a new, has already served.
Your laptop has been around for a few years already.
Even if you ran some cleaning and defrag programs, it's likely to be overcrowded anyway. By that I do not mean your files, but the whole background of Windows and co., Which you do not really get away with the free programs and without your own knowledge.
Sorry, but my recommendation is an update to Windows 10. You will need to reinstall all the programs, but if Microsoft keeps word, then it would have been the last time, because they just do not plan to bring out another Windows, but Windows 10 every six months to get a functional update, which is then without new installation, so to speak, the new Windows.
Or better like a new LapTop…
"a) the manufacturer throttles the CPU;" can't be, because so far, until a few days ago, there was not the problem, everything went perfectly!
"Otherwise, buy yourself a new one, it has already had its day." Do you think I have a money printing machine in the basement. The laptop is just 4 years old and there you say that has served its purpose, moreover that is no solution.
