Scratches on laptop?

Is it bad that I tried to use toothpaste to remove scratches from the laptop lid? Or does the color change then?

I think it's okay

Toothpaste normally has no coloring properties. But a polishing property where I could imagine if you overdo it, you rub off the paint layer.
