If I turn on the laptop and it's irrevocably broken. What is the best way to back up my data? A simple usb stick or what is the best way to do it nowadays?

pe

Large data usb stick or hard disk.

I have documents and the like in a cloud anyway. So I not only have a fuse, but also access to several devices.

Remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer. There are suitable adapters for this.

a usb stick is only of use to you within a functioning system.

If your laptop doesn't turn on, it doesn't automatically mean your data is gone. If the hard drive is still working, you can remove it and transfer your data to another system.

Of course, you should save important personal data somewhere so that it can't be lost. This can of course be done with a USB stick or an external hard drive, but you can also use external cloud solutions such as OneDrive or Dropbox. Your data is then on a server of the respective provider, you should keep that in mind. There are other ways to keep your data safe, but I think the ways described above should be sufficient for you.

What's broken on the laptop? 90% of the time it is the mainboard and thus a total loss. Then take the screwdriver and look for your hard drive. Because it is not broken. And it connects to the new laptop via a 9 euro adapter

Are also free with limited storage. Or the free version. Are then 1 or 2 gb or something.

since that's not enough for me, i pay 2 euro a month for one drive and that's good.

Ideally an external HDD hard drive or in a cloud.
