When I connect my laptop to the TV, the picture on the TV is smaller and all around is just black. If I expand it via "Graphics properties" and then set a larger display area on the TV, the TV only shows the image from the desktop and no longer what I'm currently doing on the laptop.
How can this be fixed?
Screw around with the resolution.
Press windows + p and click through the modes. Otherwise, see if your TV is set to 16: 9 or 4: 3. Your laptop wants to display the picture at 16: 9 but your PC wants to display 4: 3 maybe it is because of it. Otherwise you can right-click on the desktop and then increase the display resolution in the display settings
