Laptop does not boot from PXE?

When I start my laptop, it goes into the PXE-ROM, as usual. At the end of the ROM there's Exiting PXE ROM. But instead of Windows booting, there's simply a blinking j. Does anyone know what to do?

You have a problem with the boot sector on the partition or the hard drive with the operating system.

Did you change the boot order in the BIOS? Is the hard drive connected correctly?

The former yes, if I directly from the hard drive and not only from the E61 boats, only the flashing j comes. Hard drive should actually be connected correctly, but I'll check it out later.

As fanclub has already written, the problem is either your hard drive or an associated cable.

No bootable media are recognized. Prepare a USB stick with a bootable operating system and switch to USB in the BIOS.

Then at least you know that it is the hard drive.

So I have now removed the hard drive and connected it to my other PC via a SATA USB cable, and there it is correctly recognized with all data.

That doesn't sound good at all. Get a butchered laptop of the same make, get it from electronics dealers (Ebay classifieds), I did it once, it cost me 25 euro, now I'm running again.
