Terraria: Known mistake?

Once again, I pitched Terraria to fill up the 1000 hours. But unlike in the past, where the game was flawless, I sometimes have such tough FPS burglaries that it's barely playable.

It can't be the technology because I recently swapped my old laptop for a new one with a modern graphics card and twice as much Ram.

Does anyone else have the same problem?
