How is 70 GB of storage space of 476 GB already used up on my new notebook? I have a 512 GB SSD.
Operating system know?
Windows 10
And where should or will it be saved?
A lot of bloatware and possibly old updates
The available memory is generally always smaller than specified. Can you read here why that is so: https://www.techbook.de/...-angegeben
Then the operating system takes up part of the memory and if Windows was already preinstalled, then I also appreciate some applications that the manufacturer has preinstalled.
I suspect you have installed space-consuming programs. - They're probably games. - Or have you saved a corresponding amount of photos and / or videos?
On my PC, Win10 records with a few installed programs (no games!) (C. About 35 GB. - I have my "own files" on (D. Relocated.
The only correct answer so far.
I haven't installed anything. Brand new from the box. I only downloaded Opera. That's a few kilobytes
Windows was pre-installed. Can you free up a little storage space now?
You can see what is taking up the memory: https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free
If you haven't installed something great yourself, I'm not assuming you can free up a lot of memory.
OK thanks
Where did you get your result from?
My 35 GB result in Explorer under "This PC" from the information on "Local data carrier (C.": 114 GB free from 149 GB
However, after installing Win10, I uninstalled all Windows apps that I don't need.
It's not the browser. It was the same before. It's ~ 127 KB next to the browser
The browser is of course not. - I installed 3 different ones in addition: Chrome, Firefox and Edge-Chromium.
What is going on with you can't be said for sure from here. - You have to check it yourself.
