So as you may know, I want to buy my mom a powerful laptop for her birthday. That's in about a year. I've been collecting since we arrived in Germany (6th Jan). My mother plays the following games: Minecraft (Java, Badrock) The Sims, Jurassic World evolution, GTA V, Cities Skylines and Planet Coaster.

I have the MSI GE73 Raider and am largely satisfied. Games run smoothly on medium graphics settings. The only drawback with mine would be that the keys loosened up quickly and I had to replace some. Otherwise I'm happy with MSI and your mother's laptop will definitely be enough for her games.
Would recommend an external keyboard and mouse anyway.
With a laptop? Mouse, clear to play with this touchpad must be hell. But if I connect a keyboard the whole table is full and I can get myself a PC right away. At least that's how I see it.
