I have a microphone that has a mono jack plug as an output. My laptop unfortunately doesn't recognize the microphone (I also tried it on a second one) and so I wanted to know whether it was because of the microphone or whether I simply needed an adapter.
If it's just an output for speakers or headphones, it's not a microphone input.

You can try not to insert the pawl fully so that the tip only contacts the ring; with a little luck, it works. Of course, only on one channel.
