Why does my laptop not recognize the DVD?

I have an Asus Z9200VA there was Windows XP on it before and then Windows 10 was installed. Everything works fine, only when I insert a DVD or CD it doesn't recognize this. I also have an extra program for watching DVD, but it just doesn't work.

a yellow lamp lights up on the DVD drive but nothing else happens.

Have you ever switched the device off and on again?

My dvd can't play / read anymore. Does anyone of you know an approach? We Weed48
