I have a microphone that is not recognized by my laptop and have noticed that it has a mono jack. Is it because of the mono jack that my laptop does not recognize the microphone and can I solve it with an adapter if necessary, or is my microphone broken?
Probably you need phantom power and that is not possible with a mono jack
The input is usually mono.
Did you look in the sound settings?
I do not know exactly what is not meant by recognizing. A message or something usually doesn't come.
The internal microphone should then work. If the settings are correct. Then nothing would come with the microphone plugged in. With the microphone plug pulled, go the laptop microphone.
If it's like that. Adjust the volume of the external microphone / activate the level boost in the settings
Hoping that you won't ask for the third time tomorrow, try an adapter. But this must be one that distributes the mono signal from the microphone to the tip and ring of a stereo jack.
