Why is my num key beeping and why is the number pad now working as an arrow key?

Recently my NUM key on the laptop beeps and the numbers now work as arrow keys. I already switched off the function: "Activate Shift".

What can I do to fix both?

ma

You have activated some functions for the "Ease of use" for Windows. There are keyboard shortcuts for which you can sometimes activate it unintentionally.

For the beeping you will find this under:

Settings for easier operation
keyboard
Use Shift keys → Disable play sound
Simplify text input → Play sound when Shift keys etc… Deactivate

If Num Lock is deactivated, it is normal for the 4,8,6,2 keys to function as Preflaps. As soon as Num-Lock is activated (usually an LED labeled "1"), the number pad should function normally again as a calculation aid.

No, the keys basically don't work, even if I pressed this NUM key.

I find nothing in the settings for easier operation.

Which key combinations are typical for this?

ma

Unfortunately I do not know it. One is holding the shift key for activating the egg stop function. There's some abnormal combination for the "high contrast mode". The problem is, most people activate them accidentally without being aware that they did it, so they rarely tell me what they did.

If you connect an external USB keyboard, is that the same? If so, it must be a Windows setting. If it's not there, it gets weirder. Because I honestly don't think the laptop keyboard is broken.
