Notebook shows a lot less storage space than should be left?

It is a Medion Akoya notebook with a 70GB hard drive, approx. 2 years old, Win 10 64 bit. Hard drive has only one partition C.

In the Explorer, I see under Properties of C: that 60 GB are occupied, which I don't think is correct.

I call the properties of the individual folders under C: and add them up to about 8GB.

My question is:

Where did the remaining 50 GB of storage go? Does somebody has any idea?

Could it be because I only have one partition?

I'm grateful for any serious idea.

Sort by size and then take a look at the folder.
Or maybe in the trash.

Install that. In the program you can, for example, create C and then automatically calculate all the folders and show them very clearly.

Do you have space-consuming game programs installed?

For me, Win10 takes up almost 35 GB with the usual installed programs (no games).
My "My Files" are on a different partition: Data (D.

To get rid of superfluous ballast, you could either reinstall Win10 after backing up your data with the help of an installation disk,
or perform a Win10 restore under "Settings…", see

Many files are not shown to you, these are hidden files.

It can be assumed that only 10GB are actually free.

Hiberfil.sys and Pagefile.sys alone are up to 10GB in size, plus windows.old with 20GB, for example.

Then Windows 10 as such also has about 20GB.

Then a lot of other fuss and you're at 60GB.

So… I think everything fits.
