I wanted to play Minecraft with a friend. You on the laptop, I on the PlayStation, crossplay is now possible.
It has Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.5 and I have the normal Minecraft version 1.16.201
It is too complicated for us via one port, it is beyond our competence.
I wanted to search for you normally under Add friends from other platforms with the gamertag, but I can't find you. Neither do you me.
Has anyone here ever had the problem or can I tell why?
She has the wrong version. Your girlfriend needs the Windows 10 version. Unfortunately the Minecraft Java version does not have crossplay
Thank you, which version would that be? She bought the game the day before yesterday on the Minecraft site.
Crossplay is only possible between the Bedrock versions, not between Java and Bedrock, as the two versions are written in different programming languages (Java and C ++).
Oh ok, so would you either need the "normal" version or I need the Java version?
As I said, she needs the Windows 10 version. You have the Bedrock version. This is only compatible with the Windows 10 version
It should be:
Oh and you can't have the Java version. This is exclusively for the PC
Ah, now I get it.
With pleasure.
You need Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
Until 2020 you could still get it for free if you had a Minecraft account for 3 years or so.
