Laptop does not accept cable?

Hey so I just wanted to connect my new iPhone to my laptop to bring over the backup, but no charging cable takes the phone, so I can't connect my phone with the laptop. Over socket does not work properly only on the laptop and jz I do not know how I get my data on my new mobile because it runs on iTunes and not iCloud

If I remember rightly you have to trust the pc in the iphone settings while you have connected your iphone.

But I'm not 100% sure of myself anymore. Never had an iphone myself. Just did something in the internship
