Shutdown cmd command?

Ca
9

I'm currently in my class and would like to praise anyone here.

Does one of you know how to shut down a neighboring laptop with cmd?

That would be very nice, oh and please write the complete command with spaces and all the bells and whistles.

Pu

You would need for such an action Admin rights. (Suppose you reach the other client (network / domain etc)
And you will not have these.

Fr

No, not normally

Pu

To silently drive down another client on the network?
I'm pretty sure you need admin rights for such actions.
But if you know a way, then you can tell me this.

Fr

No, I think the neighbor has his laptop with him and he would like to shut it down. Then you do not need them because they probably already have.

ca

If the school is only halfway competent, then you can't even open the CMD on a school PC. If it is only devices in the public school WLAN, then ideally they should not be able to see each other.

Pu

You will be able to shut down your own client as good as you can (even without an admin) driving other clients down the network requires admin rights.

Fr

Yes I know that, but that was not the question? He just wants to shut down the laptop of his neighbor, so I understood that.

ki

If you use Windows, you can use

shutdown -i

open a graphical interface.
So you can search all PCs in the network (Browse → Search Now) and shut down. Without the appropriate rights in the network but that is nothing.

If it should run on the console, of course, that goes well.

With

shutdown -s -t 0

For example, you shut down your own PC (without delay).

Or you make your own order, with

shutdown -help

you can show you the syntax.

Pu

"… And would like to praise anyone here, knows one of you how to shut down a neighboring laptop with cmd." If he sits down at the client and wants to shut it down, you do not need a commandline. That's why I assume that he wants to shut down this remote (best forced and silent).
