I have a game installed on my laptop (Gothic2) but this can't be played because it does not play with mobile GPUs due to the energy supply. Now I don't have the installer CD. So I tried to copy the entire content onto a USB stick and install it on my desktop, but it doesn't work 🤷🏼♂️ It always stops.
The game would not be able to run because the installation paths are missing in the registry and the copy protection prevents a simple copying process.
Without an installation CD, the purchase would remain as an online download on Steam or GOG.com.
However, I doubt that the notebook's mobile GPU stands in the way of the game. The notebook would have to have had ten years under its belt to have serious problems with such an old title.
No, that's right. Minecraft also does great and Fortnite. However, it is somehow running on a desktop.
