Harmful if the notebook is permanently connected to electricity?

I bought a gaming notebook for Christmas. (MSI GF75 10SCSR-075 Thin). It was clear to me that the battery life would be 2-3 hours. That's not a problem either, since I mostly use the notebook at my desk anyway. (Due to lack of space, a "real desktop" was not possible). Now to the question: Should I always charge the notebook and then use it until the battery is empty or leave the device on permanently?
