I have a laptop with an RTX 2060. Here the performance is about 20 percent less than the desktop version. Because the display is just 15.6 inches, I want to buy a monitor for the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Question: Does the graphics card pack the resolution of an ultrawide monitor with 3440 x 1440 pixels or will I have to reduce the quality so much that it is a shame for the beautiful game, which is better off with a solid Full HD monitor with 16: 9 would?
I know the game would go either way. But I can't judge how I will have "the best" gaming experience.
According to the manufacturer, it requires an RTX 2070 for quality settings on "Ultra" in 1440p. Would one or two quality levels be less drastic?
I think that especially with a game like Cyberpunk you would have to turn down the settings, the only question is how well the game was done. You can use PUBG as an example, the performance was really bad at the beginning.
I have also read this on several pages:
An RTX 2060 is sufficient for entry into Full HD, if you want to play in WQHD with Raytracing Ultra, you need at least a Geforce RTX 3070.
Thank you for your answer! Did a little more research. At first I thought I could scale the ultrawide screen with 1440p down to 1080p in the worst case. But apparently this leads to a worse result than if a game is played on a monitor that effectively resolves in 1080p.
Would an ultrawide display with 1080p instead of 1440p also be a variant, or should I stick with 16: 9 with 1080p?
I would recommend an FHD 16: 9 monitor that may have more inches and maybe even 144Hz for other games. Find 144Hz better than 4k.
But in the end it's my opinion, in the end you have to know what you want better.
