I'm starting my apprenticeship as a graphic designer. But I need a laptop that has a good CPU and GPU performance. It's also important to me that the laptop is not as bulky and heavy as many gaming laptops. A weight of about 2kg are fine. From the performance of the laptop should be about as good as my desktop, so an i7 9700k and a Vega 64th I would spend max 1500 euro.
Maybe there are a few people here who are familiar with it. Would be very grateful for answers!
Although this may be a bit less power than you would like, I recommend the MSI GS70 Stealth. Good performance, good price, 2cm thick and lightweight, yet a 17.3 "FHD + display. The quality is also good, but for your purposes, the performance should be sufficient anyway.
The only criticism is the battery.
Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I'll buy the MSI GS65. It's a bit more expensive, but it looks really premium and a 1060 is still okay. The CPU is better than most other…
As a graphic designer I would advise to iPad Pro 12 with keyboard or as Windows device to the Microsoft Surface pro 6! Both ideal for this course!
Edit: (Sorry, did not read your claims 😂)
Why do you need a laptop as a graphic designer?
1) Do not get a computer at work?
2) Why do you want to work on the way?
On the way you get nothing on the line anyway. You can do some scribbling for example. Also on a iPad Pro with pen. That's what a lot of people do today!
If you need a work machine for the home then I would definitely get a decent PC. As a graphic designer you must pay attention to the color fidelity of the monitor. Standard consumer devices have the most distorted colors so that the picture looks more colorful, etc. Something you can't use as a designer!
Roughly divided, I would therefore 500-600 euro in a reasonable 1440p 27 "monitor stuck.
350 Euro in the graphics card which corresponds approximately to a GTX 1660 Ti.
As a processor, I would recommend the previous generation. Since today can make proper bargains. Nen 8700K you get synonymous for 350 euro.
Stay 300 euro for RAM, power supply, hard drive cooling and housing. It's going to be a bit tight, so I'll put on a bit more if it's not enough.
Problem with the laptop is that they run much slower than PCs even if often similar components are installed due to the poor cooling. Nen PC can stop cooling down 300-400 W heat output while NEN laptop strikes at 100 watts. There are physical limits and as a machine I would not make any compromises.
But as I said, maybe even NEN ipad pro is enough for you on the way and the rest you just do at work. I would also talk to my boss if he can't buy something about the company for the purpose of home office. Then you save at least once the fairy tale tax! Normally you get equipment but anyway completely paid. Maybe it also works with ner funding so that you can use the device to pay it off.
I already have the PC. But at the vocational school we do not have desktops / laptops. That's why I need performance to take away.
I'm only doing something with Photoshop but creating 3D models, which I also have to render. Therefore high demands😂
Honestly, I would do some training somewhere else if you have to buy your own stuff. If a company already has no money for their trainees then they hardly make money because they are just not good. And if they are not good then you can't learn anything good from them. And what you learn there's what it ultimately matters.
Sorry but you will never get a laptop for 1500 euro with the performance of your PC.
