I bought a new notebook and like to play Sims4, but I don't feel like it every day and am now looking for a free game to download, only legal!
Does anyone have any good suggestions? Can also be an online game.

You will surely find something there
Cool, of course I know Steam but can you recommend me something?
Battle for Wesnoth
Little Fighter 2
0 A.D.
Star child saga
Out and about in Dark Castle
Vampires Dawn 1 + 2
The journey into space
Wolfenhain
Grand Theft Auto 1 + 2
So shot from the gun I would have no idea. But should I get another idea then write something else.
In the German Steamforum there's also an interesting thread: 'Free games for Steam and Co' It is always worth a look:

Then you can grab something current every now and then. I have now dusted 8 Assassins Creed parts over it.
I would recommend Deltarune to you. If you have no problem with horror, I would suggest FNAF 6 (Pizzeria Simulator) and FNAF UCN (Ultimate Custom Night). There are also a lot of FNAF fangames on Gamejolt (Creepy Nights at Freddys, Five Nights at Candys, Dayshift at Freddys. I could go on like this for hours, but I don't know if you like that xD).
So I like FNAF zero, in general horror is ok but I never liked that: /
Hm, I just created an account but somehow I find nothing in the free: /
Would you also have something newer games on offer, these are all very old graphics (which I don't mind but prefer to play more recent ones)
Oh. Hey okay. Tastes are different xD.
Do you have any other suggestions?
As I said, Deltarune. If you know or even like Undertale, you will like Deltarune as well. A really good game (you have to download it from the Internet. Just google it).
Otherwise… If you like shooters, CSGO would be a good recommendation.
Is there a reason why you don't want to or can't spend money? Now I can only think of demos xD.
Oh, my money is too important for internet games, haha, I would rather spend it on other things
Look here.
I recommend "Yandere Escape", which is completely free on Steam. Is a relatively difficult game in the Yandere style, only that you do not play the Yandere, but have to flee from it. You can (at least) play for a long time without getting bored.
For better graphics, you should also be willing to spend a few euro. Otherwise you only get games with micro transactions and this is almost always pay to win.
