Gaming laptop around 1000 euro with DVD drive (see details)?

First of all: I know for sure that many experts will roll their eyes again because someone is looking for "a cheap gaming laptop" again. Where do I start? First of all, I want to make it clear that I DO NOT plan to play current games on this laptop. I define it in such a way that I don't want to play any games that were released after 2017 on this laptop! That's what I have my Ps4 Pro for! (Many community experts then come up with the argument that sooner or later you want to play newer games and then you are dissatisfied with the hardware. Does not apply to me.).

I also do NOT want to play AAA games for which you need extremely good CPUs and especially GPUs. As an example I take multiplayer games like Battlefield and single player games like God of War from 2018. I buy something like this on the Ps4, not on my laptop. Instead, I want the right hardware for F2P games e.g. From Steam or from the Epic Games Store, games like Hell let Loose etc. And only a few games in the middle to low price segment.

Now, of course, I could just buy any gaming laptop worth around 1000 euro, if it weren't for another important topic for me: the DVD drive. Since I need one for some of the games as well as for purposes such as online lessons or watching films, here is my question for you: Do you know a gaming laptop that…

-approximately in this price segment (approx. 100 euro)

-has at least one Intel Core i5 processor

-has a graphics card that meets my requirements above

-AND has a DVD drive?

Thank you VERY MUCH for any Really helpful answer.

(Ps. When it comes to RAM, I don't really care whether it is 8 or 16 GB, it will be enough for my purposes).

Buy one for 950 euro and add a usb drive. Very few laptops in the price range still have drives.

Couldn't find anyone with a DVD drive capable of playing 2017 games decently.

You can buy an external one, in Germany you can copy films to your laptop because of the private copying right, provided you do not break the copy protection.

Look here:

https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de (1050 euro, without Windows 10 or Linux Mint, without DVD drive)

If you really need an internal drive:

However, I strongly advise against the HP notebooks, as they are poorly made.

If you are strict with the pricing and it can't cost something more than 1000 euro:

I would have recommended that too

Turn to the hardware department whatsapp support, they are just about to build some and when they are finished, they will sell them in the shop. Up to now nobody knows exactly which laptops will be built, so you could ask what will soon be available in your price range. Often times it is cheaper than equivalent finished gaming notebooks from major brands.

First of all: Thank you very much for the serious answer, I was already expecting the first sarcastic comments from the experts. (At least what one reads under other questions about the topic "Gaming Pc / Laptop"). Second: Would such an external DVD drive with USB port and cable be compatible with any laptop?

ca

Thanks for the serious answer, I've already seen the first sarcastic comments on the subject.

The suggestion with the external DVD drive sounds great, also because every laptop has USB ports anyway. Would such an external DVD drive be compatible with any laptop, or do you have to pay attention to the brand?

ca

It doesn't sound bad either, but I think I'll take the variant of the other user or community expert, namely the external DVD drive.

Anyway, thanks for the answer. You may have tips on what I have to consider with such an external drive in terms of compatibility with the laptop, etc.

li

No. Any USB drive should be compatible with it.

ca

OK. I have one last question: Do you have any experience as to whether games can be used smoothly on the laptop in such an external DVD drive?

li

No I did not. However, it should work just like a normal DVD drive.

ca

All right, thanks for the answers Antworten

Va

Yes. USB-A 3.0 drives are compatible with everyone since every (new) laptop has a USB-A.

You can of course buy such a drive if the laptop has USB-C 3.1, but it is more expensive.

All right, was very helpful, thanks for the answers.
