Do you recommend renting from Grover?

For example, if you rent a cell phone and a laptop for 1 year, is it better or buy it directly?

Ca

Depends on what it is and what it costs

Ci

Laptop for 29.90 and iPhone for 19.90 for 12 months each

Ca

Which devices are these? There's not just one

Ci

Microsoft surface Laptop Go and iPhone xr 64Gb

Ca

The iphone costs around 500 euro in stores and rents 239 euro after a year, so I think renting is ok, then you can get a newer one.

With a notebook you pay 360 euro for the year and can buy for 600 euro because I would rather buy it if you plan to use a notebook for more than just a year, because you don't have to buy a new one every 1-2 years.

Ci

I always want to use everything for 1 year and then upgrade but thank you.

Ca

But not worthwhile with a notebook, you are giving away a lot of money.
What this notebook can do today, will do it in 4-5 years

Ci

Well, the performance will be weaker and there will be new and better ones

Ca

You can do a lot with the notebook anyway, except for the office, watching videos, internet, that's enough for the next few years, so no newer one is worthwhile just because of office programs and internet

Ti

To buy

Ci

Why? You can always rent newer cell phones after 1 year instead of having the same one for 2+ years?

Ci

Why?

Ne

2 years is very little and you can still sell it. Is just like renting or buying a home.

Rent costs 1000 a month and buy 1200 or so. If you mean it, you end up having nothing, if you buy it you can probably still sell it with an increase in value.

Well, a cell phone doesn't get any more expensive, but for 100 euro you can still sell the Iphone Xr and you can easily have it for 3 years.

Renting is not worthwhile in the long run.

Ci

Nah, why should I bother and sell an old cell phone that isn't even new and the price is likely to be low. Instead of going to all the trouble, can you rent a newer cell phone right away or not?

Ko

It's actually only worth it if you want to test devices for a few months. Otherwise you can get the devices many times cheaper from dealers.

Pl

I would have liked to have answered the question.

Unfortunately, you've already given the most helpful answer, so it's no longer worth it.

Ci

Why is it not worth it?
