Right choice at DJ Equipment?

Beautiful sunday,

I have a question for you.

First to me. I have been hobby technically for 8 years. At the beginning only played around with laptop and program, then when I was 16 the Numark mixtrack per 3 bought. Now I'm putting on this thing at home for me for 6 years. I once had a Pioneer DDJ-1000 for 2 months, but had to sell it for lack of money then.

So now I'm looking for a new mixer. Actually, I was pretty convinced of Pioneer XDJ-RX2. Until I was told that I should buy something just for fun and under no circumstances to practice for clubs ect. Should take. But the money for 2 CDJ-2000 NXS players is unfortunately not in the house, where I heard that they could finance themselves by renting them. Just where I can do it exactly or if it is worth it if they are then totally out of stock after a few years is also the question. Have also heard that one is not really taken seriously without stand alone devices. What I have also considered a Pioneer DDJ-RXZ or just the same Denon Prime bundle with 2 SC5000 player.

Now to you. What should I do in your opinion? I would say until 3000 euro is still realistic. What would you get to fit for performances or even take it with you?

Jo

The XDJ RX2 is not suitable for practice is pure nonsense! Important should only be that it is Pioneer or record box so that everything is compatible with CDJs but you may also take your XDJ RX2 into the club. The RX2 also has good connections so no problem. Otherwise the DDJ 1000 if you want 4 channels. But it's just a controller and not a stand alone. And take that seriously? You're not the one. You have to get along with your equipment! Do your thing!

no

Yes, and the few people who are looking over your shoulder are negligent, or will shcon understand why you are using which equipment. For most others, only the result counts.

Wa

Definitely the prime bundle. In my opinion, denon pioneer has already overtaken:

Jo

But for clubs not useful. Because it's just awkward because Pioneer is standart. And if there's room for n Denon Setup everywhere? I do not know. I would take Pioneer because you are on the right side. Can you handle the situation better?

Hu

I did not even look at that from the side. But thanks for your answer! Apparently, I'm going to buy the RX2 right now. But I'll leave me some time and think it all through in peace 😉

Hu

So the Denon pioneer has passed, I can only agree!

Jo

You have to consider the Zedd Ultra Mainstage (2017?) Played with a Native Instruments Controller and Traktor. With a mini part of the MAINSTAGE ULTRA MIAMI has played! He did not care what everyone else said. So as for that… As I said main thing Pioneer or Rekordbox because the club is standard, then you can almost spontaneously get started in each club has the USB player (because not every club necessarily has CDJ 2000)

Hu

That's right, only the pioneer set is quite expensive and I honestly can't afford it. Denon already rather but I think I'll actually buy a Pioneer XDJ-RX2 or the DDJ-RXZ

Jo

Yes, Denon is technically way ahead but Denon does not mind if you have all tracks in Engine and then stand in the club in front of Pioneer with record box.

Hu

Wow I did not hear that at all. Respect for the type. But I also think that a RX2 stand alone should be enough

Wa

Yes, that's the question. However, the denon bundle is only half as expensive and as you can see in the video, the two players do not differ so much from the way they work. Say if you practice with denon, you can hang up with pioneer in the club (you may not use the features of cdjs then 100%, but that justifies the 3000 euro more?)

La

You can be very divided about that. Although Denon has some nice features, other aspects are obvious. The feel and durability leaves a lot to be desired. Also the own analysis tool "Prime" is not yet so reliable and extensive that Denon could settle with it. All this can be seen in the quite large price erosion that prevails in the Prime Sets.
