Sims 3 jerky with expansion packs, what to do?

I like to play The Sims 3 on my laptop (HP 250 G6). It is the case that I played it without any extensions, so it always worked with a good graphics setting. Now it is the case that I got all the expansion packs. Unfortunately, it is now very jerky. It can't be due to the graphics, it jerky with every graphics setting. What else can I do? What could that be?
