Is there a way to supply a laptop with the power supply alone without charging the battery (that the battery remains at 80% and is not charged further).
You can't simply remove the battery from the laptop. It is permanently installed.
Why the whole thing? Because I sometimes have it in one place at home and I don't want to shorten the runtime of my battery there, it also gets a little hot when charging because it has a strong power supply.

When the battery is fully charged, it shouldn't be warm anymore, because then the power supply to the battery is normally interrupted by the mainboard, and the laptop is completely separate from the battery, i.e. Only operated by the power supply.
Yes, I know that, but it is also not good to keep a battery at 100% continuously. I would rather let it charge to a certain value and then switch to mains operation.
Maybe check out HP support in Lenovo Vantage you can set it. Otherwise you can set the limit for some lapotps to 80% in the bios.
Unfortunately, this is not possible without further ado, something is possible with cell phones, but only if you have rooted your system
All right thank you.
I will try it right now.
