I have a new HP notebook, which I use as a desktop replacement, so all cables are plugged in all the time. I only interrupt the power supply at night and when I'm away - and that's what it's all about.
I want the notebook in standby mode (no shutdown, no hibernation, I really mean standby mode) to also cut the USB supply. It even works wonderfully if I disconnect the power supply BEFORE the standby mode (i.e. On battery power). Then the notebook goes into standby mode and the USB devices are no longer supplied.
It is different, however, if I have still switched on the power supply: Then the notebook also goes into standby mode, but the USB supply remains active - even if I then pull out the mains plug.
How can I set that the USB supply is cut in standby mode even when the power is on? There are no settings in this regard in the BIOS and in the device manager under the USB devices "Computer can switch off the device to save energy" is active.
