Wanted to ask if the graphics card of the HP Omen 17w222ng gaming laptop is interchangeable, because I couldn't find out anything about it on my own. I'm aware that most laptops can almost never be upgraded, but I would appreciate a quick answer!

Eve! Yes, that's right that in many cases it is hardly or not at all possible to replace parts such as a graphics card in the laptop, since the graphics cards in the laptop are in chip format and you can't simply install a normal Geforce Rtx or Gtx or Radeon graphics card because of that Laptop is no place! And these graphics chips are usually very difficult or even impossible to find at normal hardware dealers, so you have to hand the laptop over to a specialist so that he can take care of the matter! With a normal stationary gaming PC, the installation or replacement is a matter of a few minutes as this requires a few movements, which is one of the reasons why I advise many friends against a gaming laptop!

Thanks for the quick answer, and I also agree that you are better off with a desktop PC, especially when it comes to retrofitting. Since I decided to buy a laptop years ago, I think it would be a shame not to consider the option, maybe you can still get something out of it without having to buy a new PC immediately.

Yes, as I told you, it's best to contact a specialist because they usually have the necessary connections to get hold of parts such as gaming graphics chips, you can also look around on eBay but there are currently a lot of bad people (to put it mildly ) on the go, who enrich themselves with the current graphics cards or graphics chip situation and it can often happen that you can be ripped off because graphics cards are currently offered at pharmacist prices and the second-hand hardware market should be enjoyed with great caution!

So I'll get in touch again briefly, I just asked a bit on the net how to get access to such graphics cards, and the result is pretty sobering! Either there were totally outdated graphics units that will fail because of the smallest details and there will be no question of gaming, or on eBay you were bombarded with repair advertisements where you should do a huge berth as it could quickly become quite expensive! Really a pretty difficult situation 😬 when I hear that the graphics card has blessed someone with the current graphics card situation, my gamer heart is bleeding! For one, because it is currently a total nightmare to buy a graphics card! Either these are completely bought away or they are sold at pharmacist prices! And on the other hand, it is almost impossible to find a graphics card for a gaming notebook as a normal consumer and the graphics card is the heart of every gaming computer! I don't want to give your notebook a death sentence just yet, but the chances are pretty bad! The best thing to do is to contact a specialist you trust or someone who will take care of the matter! Otherwise good luck!

Thank you for the effort, and thank God everything still works flawlessly, it would just be an upgrade. I visit the specialist I trust during the days and discuss further issues.

Ok thank god 🙂 I thought that your graphics card had given up the ghost! Yes, you can of course do well, but whether he can help you is of course questionable. No offense now, but gaming laptops are in most cases purely disposable items, if any specific parts break, then hey the forest fairy! In most cases this damage is irreparable! But that is owed to the manufacturers, who do it extra so that you are forced to buy a new device for a lot of money! Otherwise you also have a nice evening.
