I have a little problem that would be that I have an onboard graphics card and a gpu. The onboard has 512mb and the gpu has 2gb. The big problem is that the onboard graphics card is always used in games (with 512MB) I would like to use the 2 GB but as soon as I switch off the onboard and go into a game it always crashes. Can someone help me?
resources:
Processor: AMD A9 9420 APU with AMD RADEON R5 graphics
GPU: AMD RADEON R7 M340
APU: AMD RADEON R5 Graphics
Then switch it over in the BIOS
Unfortunately you can't switch this in hp bios
Which computer?
You can switch that as follows.
You should be able to assign a program or even a global graphic chip via the AMD Control Panel. Alternatively, you can select programs with "Right click → Execute with graphics processor" the desired graphics card.
Did you also connect your monitor to the graphics card?
Yes I have
HP Notebook - 17-ak024ng
Thank you for your answer I have already tried everything possible in the AMD program but after I switch the GPU to the 2nd GPU, the graphics card automatically switches back to GPU 1 by i.e. To the 512Mb
I have already done this, but as soon as I switch off the onboard with 512MB I can no longer open a game or crashes due to a critical error. It seems to me that the GPU and APU are interdependent. It won't work without the other. Like a brain without a heart or a heart without a brain
